12/12/12

This is the last time any of us will ever see a recurring date like that. I'm not sure if that's depressing, but today's date was pretty sweet.

And somebody I follow on Twitter retweeted Sesame Street saying today was definitely brought to you by the number 12.

Unless they find the fountain of youth right?

Or maybe vampires really do exist.

Date: 2012-12-13 04:32 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-hawkeye.livejournal.com
Right, or maybe people with healing factors.

Or people who get put into stasis once that's a thing that actually happens.

Healing factor. I know the guy, Jean-Paul, I met in the Medlab mentioned about healing fast. Maybe we should pick his brains.

I think the term is cryonic suspension. I watch too much scifi.

Or if the philosopher's stone isn't just in Harry Potter.

Healing fast and healing factors are different things, though. Mr. G's got a healing factor. We could ask him. Though he'd probably give us weird looks and tell us to go read Le Mis or something.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:01 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
Well he did say he was in a circus fire...so I was just assuming. Ah yes, Mr. G. It is worth asking, though if he is going to say go read Le Mis, can we just go and watch the movie instead?

Date: 2012-12-13 05:03 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-hawkeye.livejournal.com
I don't think the movie counts. Besides, which version? There are a few, I think. The new one looks... interesting? But I dunno, I'd feel weird just doing that instead of the actual reading. Besides, he can probably read this so our plans would be busted anyway.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:06 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
I can't afford more reading Clint. You've seen my homework piles! Okay maybe we shouldn't ask him, just to avoid the situation.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:11 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
Tandy, we'll talk about your English homework. I'm not gonna force you to do all that makeup work after what happened okay? I'm not a asshole, we'll figure out a way to catch you up. Don't drive yourself crazy, okay?

Date: 2012-12-13 05:12 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
Did I ever tell you you are my favorite teacher?

Date: 2012-12-13 05:21 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
I'd be a real shit if I punished you for something you didn't have any control over. Anyone who did that would be a shit, and in my case, English isn't like math where if you miss a topic you really do need to make it up - so what if you missed 2 weeks of SAT words and one essay? BFD.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:25 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
Just let me know what stuff I need to know if anything.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:30 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
How about we sit down during my office hours (wow that's weird to say) and we'll figure out what you missed and what you think you'll be able to make up versus like, what would be crazypants to ask you to make up before midterms and if I gotta just put a big ass "TANDY DON'T DO THIS PART" on your copy of the midterm, bfd.

Sounds like a plan teach.

Date: 2012-12-13 07:51 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-hawkeye.livejournal.com
See, stuff turned out okay. And I'll still help you with math where I'm able. It's just kind of weird, being a year behind and stuff.

Date: 2012-12-13 04:00 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
Yup, that leaves just Math, History and Science.

And finding out if people can live to the next reoccurring date.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:09 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
What's that I hear? Plans being busted? WHY YES IT IS!

Yes, we're reading Les Mis. The abridged version because I don't hate you or myself.
Yes, you can watch the movie or one other other versions of the musical for extra credit.
Yes, I will take 15 points from RavenpuffSquiffypoo if you call Fantine "buzzcut Catwoman"

also okay, what do you guys want to know about healing factors, because they're all kinda different, really.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:23 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
We were just talking about healing factors in regard if would live long enough until the next beginning of the recurring date in a 88 years.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:28 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
I dunno. I mean, Wade's OLD but he looks like 30, so maybe we will? I dunno, I try not to think about it too much.

But yeah, JP you met heals fast, but it's not quite the same, at least I think - he can get tattoos, and I can't really, for example. If I get one, it doesn't stick around.

Date: 2012-12-13 07:55 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-deadpool.livejournal.com
You make it sound like I'm 103, dude.

Which, for the record people, I am not. It pays to not really think about it. Marie-Ange says stuff about cognitive dissonance when I talk about stuff that happened in 1985 from personal experience.

I can't get tattoos, either.

Date: 2012-12-13 04:01 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
Why can't you guys get tattoos? Is it the healing thing?

Date: 2012-12-13 05:36 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
Because healing factors sometimes heal stuff most people can't heal. So like - I got some toes cut off once, they grew back. So the whatever skin layer that tattoos go on, on me, grows back, instead of sticking around like someone without a healing factor.

Means most body art is right out for me.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:42 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-dagger.livejournal.com
That just sounds painful, but kind of handy at the same time. I guess it make sense. Tattoos are scars with ink. What about piercings?

Date: 2012-12-15 11:37 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com
Hmm. I wonder if your body would reject technological implants if they were just under the skin. Sort of push them out. (Alas, if it did, we would have to stop joking about sticking a microchip in your butt.)

Date: 2012-12-13 05:26 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com
I can assure you that Wade is most definitely from the seventies. Bell bottoms. Just trust me on this one, you don't want to see them.

Date: 2012-12-13 07:50 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-hawkeye.livejournal.com
Extra credit? Awesome! If I watch multiple versions, can I get multiple extra credits? And will that balance out me calling Fantine "buzzcut Catwoman" just for fun now?

How fast do you heal? Is it like a super accelerated regeneration thing?

Date: 2012-12-13 05:37 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
If you compare 'em, sure.

Faster than Wade, not as fast as I want sometimes and yep. There's science words involved, I bet one of the docs could explain. Mostly I know I heal fast and stuff grows back even when normally it wouldn't.

Date: 2012-12-13 07:13 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-penance.livejournal.com
And while Kyle is healing, he is eating All of the Meat. ;)

Date: 2012-12-13 07:15 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
Lets be fair to me here, I eat All of the Meat even when I'm not healing.

Date: 2012-12-13 07:16 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-penance.livejournal.com
This is true. But you are MORE when you are healing. Because you need the protein to make the new body parts, yes?

Date: 2012-12-13 07:19 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com
Pretty much - protein's more efficient for me to heal, especially when it's muscle or skin. if I have to deal with bone stuff sometimes I also eat a lot of yogurt.
