Former SHIELD and SWORD agent, Clint Barton had various disciplinary issues which were only exacerbated by anti-mutant feeling after M-Day. After an incident with his partner, he took a leave of absence and wound up at Xavier's, founding a new team, eXcalibur. Called to do a favor for a former contact, Clint dropped off the radar for almost two years before reappearing as an undercover asset on an X-Force mission.
